How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    £34,000 - £38,000 DOE + Annual Bonus | Full-Time, On-site | Crediton

Cathedral Appointments are recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised snacking and confectionery manufacturer, home to some of the nation's best-loved brands, with a well-established manufacturing site in Crediton. This is a great opportunity to join a busy People Team supporting a large-scale manufacturing operation, at a business investing heavily in modern HR technology and self-service systems.

    The Role

This People Experience Advisor role sits within the wider People Team, acting as a champion for people processes across the Crediton site and a first point of contact for HR queries from employees and managers alike. You'll be hands-on across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to employee relations, while coaching colleagues to get the best out of the organisation's HR systems. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on building relationships at all levels, and wants to make a tangible difference to how people experience work day to day.

Responsibilities for the People Experience Advisor

    • Act as a champion for people processes, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement
    • Support onboarding and induction, absence management, investigations and disciplinary processes
    • Coach employees and managers in using HR systems and self-service technology, including Workday
    • Lead recruitment campaigns, manage salary updates, and keep company policies up to date
    • Support local DE&I plans and drive business initiatives such as learning activation weeks and the engagement survey
    • Handle HR administration and system transactions, acting as the first point of contact for HR queries

Requirements for the People Experience Advisor include

    • Experience in an HR role with foundational employee relations experience
    • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships at all levels
    • Proactive and curious, with a drive to challenge the status quo and improve ways of working
    • A collaborative team player who enjoys working with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Based in or able to commute to Crediton on a full-time, on-site basis

    Benefits

    • Annual bonus scheme
    • Excellent benefits package
    • Full-time, on-site role with a globally recognised manufacturer
    • Broad, varied HR generalist role with exposure to modern people systems
    • Supportive, collaborative People Team environment

If you're an experienced HR professional looking for a broad, hands-on generalist role within a well-established manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
