We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join a long-term social housing maintenance programme, delivered on behalf of the local council. In this role, you'll carry out a range of electrical repairs and installations across council-owned properties, helping ensure safe, reliable, and well-maintained homes for residents.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations in occupied and void social housing properties.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in domestic environments while ensuring safety compliance.
Installing and maintaining lighting, sockets, switches, consumer units, and other domestic electrical components.
Conducting periodic inspections and testing (including EICRs) in line with current regulations.
Ensuring all work complies with BS 7671 and relevant health and safety requirements.
Completing job sheets, certificates, and compliance documentation accurately.
Liaising with tenants, site managers, and other trades to support smooth service delivery.
Responding to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs when required.
Maintaining tools, equipment, and the company vehicle to a high standard.
Following company procedures and delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
18th Edition (BS 7671)
City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing)
AM2
JIB Gold Card (or working towards it)
