How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessments, programmes, and interventions across school, home, and community settings

    • Collaborate with teaching and therapeutic colleagues to co-produce tailored sensory diets, motor skill development plans, and life-skills support appropriate to our pupils' needs

    • Contribute to EHCPs through clear clinical reporting, outcomes setting, and professional advice

    • Provide training and support for school staff and families to promote consistency and extend therapeutic gains across settings

    • Support the school's exceptional 1:2 staff ratios through effective collaboration and communication with the wider team

    Who We're Looking For

    The successful candidate will be:

    • Empathetic and enthusiastic, with a strong desire to improve the lives of autistic children and young people with severe learning difficulties

    • A creative problem-solver, confident in adapting your practice to meet diverse individual needs

    • An excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals

    • Flexible and resilient, able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

    • Committed to our "Safe, Happy, Learning" ethos and to supporting our pupils' holistic development

    Essential Requirements

    • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

    • HCPC registration

    • Experience working with children and/or young people with autism, severe learning difficulties or additional needs in education, health or social care

    • Strong understanding of sensory processing, motor development, and functional skills interventions

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to EHCPs or multidisciplinary reviews

    • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
