How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Restoration & build Technician

Join PROJECT 88, Where Classic Land Rovers Are Reimagined

Based in the heart of Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, PROJECT 88 is an ambitious, energetic automotive brand specialising in the build, restoration and upgrade of Series II & III Land Rovers, Defender 90s and Defender 110s.

Our vehicles are gaining a loyal following across the UK, Europe and the US. As demand grows, we are looking for a skilled, detail-driven Restoration & build Technician to join our close-knit workshop team.

This is a chance to work on exceptional vehicles from first inspection to final finish — helping create beautifully executed Land Rovers with real character.

    The Role

You’ll support the ground up build and restoration of classic Series Land Rovers and Defenders. Working in a highly capable team, you’ll have ownership of your projects and the space to see each job through to an exceptional standard.

Land Rover experience is welcome, but not essential. What matters most is strong mechanical knowledge, pride in your work and a sharp eye for detail.

    What You’ll Be Doing

Stripping and cataloguing donor vehicles on arrival

Completing ground-up chassis, suspension and drivetrain builds

    Assembling bodywork following paint

    Installing pre-made wiring looms

Fitting trim, lighting and galvanised components

Planning, managing and documenting your individual vehicle builds

Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop

    What We’re Looking For

Strong practical knowledge of vehicle mechanics

A high standard of workmanship and real attention to detail

The ability to manage your own time, plan work effectively and take ownership of projects

A methodical, organised approach to component assessment and build documentation

A genuine interest in classic vehicles; previous experience is an advantage

Welding and fabrication skills are desirable, but not essential

A formal vehicle-mechanics qualification is welcome, but not required

City & Guilds Automotive qualification and a driving licence are preferred

    What We Offer

    Employed or self-employed contract options

    Competitive salary, based on experience

    Overtime opportunities

    Potential travel opportunities

    40-hour week, Monday to Friday

25 days’ annual leave, increasing after two years’ service, plus statutory holidays

Pension, cycle-to-work scheme and employee discount

    Company bonus

    Free on-site parking

Company events and a supportive, ambitious team

This role could suit an experienced technician seeking a less time-pressured environment or someone ready to develop their career within a fast-growing specialist automotive business.

At PROJECT 88, you won’t just repair vehicles. You’ll help shape distinctive, sought-after classics as we expand our products, our locations and our global reputation.
