How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Centre Director

    We are currently looking for a Centre Director to join On Campus UK North, Preston.

    The role will be on a full-time, Permanent basis.

    The Centre Director is required to:

    Deliver high levels of performance across all Centre functions, including academic success, progression to partner, student satisfaction, staff engagement and financial performance- build on the relationship with the partner and affiliate universities to maximise student progression and identify opportunities for further collaboration.

    Support and deliver the centre strategy for the development and growth of the centre, leading to increasing volumes of students progressing through to our partner(s).

    Build on the relationship with the partner and affiliate universities to maximise student progression and identify opportunities for further collaboration.

    Lead and manage the Centre Management Team to ensure delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, effective administrative systems and resources are in place, and students receive best in class support across all areas of their engagement at centre.

    Embed procedure, policies and requirements of ONCAMPUS and all relevant external bodies, e.g. QAA, OFS, local immigration as applicable and support an excellent student experience.

    Effectively manage the Centre Budget including forecasting in line with ONCAMPUS financial policy.

    To develop, motivate, manage and appraise, management staff to achieve both their objectives and their full personal potential.

    To contribute to and, as required, participate in the Company’s sales and marketing activities to develop and strengthen the relationships between the Company and its current and potential partners, agents and students

    Person Specification

    Education

    * Bachelor’s degree / Degree Qualified at NFQ Level 8 or 9 (essential)

    * A postgraduate qualification e.g. PGCE, MBA (essential)

    Experience

    * Extensive experience in a senior leadership role in an academic environment. (essential)

    * 3+ years of secondary, further or higher education teaching experience (essential)

    * Curriculum design and programme management experience (essential)

    * An understanding of needs and requirements of international students (essential).

    * A track record of creative approaches to developing and exploiting opportunities in higher education or related sectors (essential).

    Skills

    * Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and understanding (Essential).

    * Highly competent user of commonly used IT packages (Word, Excel, Teams) (essential)

    * Exceptional management and administrative skills. (Essential)

    * Proven leadership skills (Essential)
