How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    My client, a well-established supplier to multiple big ticket corporate OEMs, seek to appoint a Manufacturing Manager for their Yorkshire site. On offer is an excellent financial package and the opportunity of progression within a large manufacturing organisation. Internal promotion is common and has led to this role.

    Manufacturing Manager - Role & Responsibilities
     - Lead a team of manufacturing engineers, production engineers and continuous improvement / lean specialists to meet key business deliverables on a day-to-day basis
     - Regular contact/supervision with a team of experienced shift production managers
     - Assess strengths and weaknesses of team members and coach accordingly. Design and implement training and development plans for each team member
     - Lead smaller multidisciplinary project teams to introduce new product lines. Sideways management of production line, quality and maintenance staff
     - Ensure compliance with TS16949, ISO14001 and ISO18001
     - Knowledge of “make versus buy methodology. Evaluate cost benefit of outsourcing / bringing in-house stages of the manufacturing process
     - Ensure adherence to HSE & HR procedures

    Manufacturing Manager – Skills & Abilities
     - Of graduate calibre with a minimum 5 years with a high precision highly automated manufacturing business. Automotive preferred. Electronics, plastic, glass, medical devices, etc all suitable
     - Experience with day-to-day management of a midsized team
     - Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams. Working knowledge of quality, maintenance and design functions of a major business
     - CAPEX justification and budget responsibility
     - Knowledge of value stream mapping / lean flow projects to improve manufacturing operations
     - Computer literate, problem solver, a good communicator, with man management experience
