Zest Education are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in primary and secondary schools across Sutton Coldfield.
We are a main agency provider to schools across the region and have an ongoing need for enthusiastic, reliable and caring individuals to join our team.
Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant, a recent university graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education, or someone with a strong background working with children and young people, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other school staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
* Supporting pupils in the classroom and helping them to engage with their learning
* Working with individuals or small groups of pupils
* Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra help with their education
* Helping teachers prepare and organise classroom resources
* Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment
* Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
* Assisting with activities, lessons and school routines
* Providing pastoral support and acting as a positive role model
* Supporting pupils with additional needs where appropriate
Who Are We Looking For?

You may already have experience working in education, or you may have gained transferable experience in another setting.
Relevant backgrounds can include:
* Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience
* Recent graduates
* Youth work
* Childcare or nursery work
* Sports coaching
* Mentoring
* Support work
* SEN experience
* Volunteering with children or young people
* Scout or youth group leadership
* Previous school-based experience

Zest Education are an APSCo-audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children and young people.
All candidates must:
* Hold an Enhanced DBS, or be willing to allow Zest Education to process one
* Be registered with the DBS Update Service
* Provide suitable references covering the last two years
* Successfully complete all necessary safeguarding and compliance checks before being cleared for work
The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position include recent school-based experience within the last five years in a school teaching the British Curriculum and/or relevant care-based experience within the last five years.
