We’re working with an established engineering business developing sophisticated embedded systems and are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.
This would suit someone at Junior to Midlevel who has a good foundation in C/C++ and wants to develop their experience withi a highly technical engineering environment.
The Role - Embedded Software Engineer - Southampton
You’ll be involved in the development, testing and enhancement of embedded software across a range of products, working closely with software, FPGA and SoC engineering teams.
Key responsibilities: Embedded Software Engineer - Southampton
* Develop, maintain and test embedded software using C/C++
* Design and implement new software features
* Carry out unit and integration testing
* Develop software for system control and monitoring
* Work with communication protocols including RS232/RS422, CAN, RTP, UDP and TCP/IP
* Support the integration of software across embedded systems
* Develop GUI applications using commercial and open-source libraries
We’re looking for someone with: Embedded Software Engineer - Southampton
* Some commercial or academic experience in Embedded Software Development
* Good C++ development skills
* A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject
* Understanding of data structures and algorithms
* Experience with Linux environments
* An understanding of software development and testing practices
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills
* An interest in developing your career within embedded software
Security clearance will be required for the role.
