How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Ecommerce Director | Fashion | Office-Based | Competitive Salary + Benefits

This opportunity would suit candidates who are able to relocate or stay away during the working week. Please consider this before applying.

Zachary Daniels Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and growing fashion retailer to recruit an Ecommerce Director.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, multi-channel fashion business with a strong customer following and ambitious plans for continued growth. With a significant online operation already in place, the business is looking for an experienced Ecommerce Director to take ownership of ecommerce performance and play a key role in shaping the next stage of digital growth.

This is not a turnaround role. The foundations are there, the opportunity is significant, and the business is investing in its digital proposition, technology and people.

The Ecommerce Director will have broad responsibility across ecommerce trading and digital marketing, bringing together online trading, customer acquisition, digital performance and the wider customer journey. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders across the business, with the autonomy to challenge, influence and make decisions that have a direct commercial impact.

    Key Responsibilities

Own and deliver the ecommerce strategy, driving continued growth across online sales, conversion, customer acquisition and profitability.
Lead the day-to-day ecommerce trading agenda, ensuring the online proposition is commercially optimised across product, pricing, promotions, content and customer journey.
Take ownership of ecommerce and digital performance, using data and insight to identify opportunities, improve trading results and maximise customer value.
Lead digital marketing activity across key acquisition and retention channels, ensuring investment is aligned to commercial objectives.
Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Product, Technology and Operations to deliver a joined-up ecommerce and customer strategy.
Develop and optimise the online trading calendar, aligning campaigns, product launches, promotions and key seasonal opportunities.
Drive improvements across conversion, AOV, traffic, customer acquisition, retention and overall online profitability.
Oversee performance across paid media, paid social, CRM, email, SEO and other relevant digital channels, ensuring activity delivers against agreed KPIs.
Use customer and commercial data to understand behaviour, identify trends and inform strategic and trading decisions.
Lead the ongoing development of the digital customer journey and onsite experience.
Identify opportunities to improve the use of technology, data, automation and emerging digital capabilities.
Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure digital activity is delivered effectively and delivers strong commercial returns.
Build, develop and lead a high-performing ecommerce and digital team, creating clear accountability and a strong performance culture.
Keep the business ahead of developments across ecommerce, digital marketing, social commerce, technology and the wider fashion retail landscape.
Present trading performance, strategic recommendations and growth opportunities to senior leadership.Key Requirements

Proven experience at Ecommerce Director, Head of Ecommerce, Ecommerce Trading Director or equivalent senior level within a consumer-facing business.
Strong ecommerce experience within fashion retail is highly desirable, ideally within a high-volume, multi-product environment.
A demonstrable track record of driving significant online revenue growth and improving ecommerce performance.
Strong understanding of ecommerce trading, including conversion, AOV, margin, traffic, customer acquisition, retention and profitability.
Experience leading digital marketing activity across paid media, paid social, CRM, email, SEO and other customer acquisition channels.
Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to connect digital activity to wider business performance and profitability.
Experience managing and developing ecommerce and digital teams, with the ability to create structure, accountability and high performance.
Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to drive commercial decisions.
Experience working cross-functionally with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Technology and Operations.
Comfortable managing external agencies and technology partners, while knowing when to challenge and when to bring capability in-house.
A strong understanding of the fashion customer and what drives online engagement, conversion and repeat purchase.
Commercially curious, with a genuine interest in new technology, AI, automation and emerging opportunities within ecommerce.
A hands-on and pragmatic leadership style, with the ability to move between strategy and execution.
Confident operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and decisions need to be made quickly.
A collaborative and emotionally intelligent leader who can influence at senior level while remaining close to the detail. Why Apply?

Join an established and successful fashion retailer with ambitious plans for continued growth.
Take genuine ownership of ecommerce trading and digital performance.
Play a key role in shaping the future digital strategy of the business.
Influence technology, customer experience, trading and digital marketing rather than owning just one area.
Lead and develop an established ecommerce and digital team.
Work closely with senior leadership and have genuine influence over commercial decisions.
Join a business that is investing in its digital proposition and has significant opportunity ahead. If you are an experienced Ecommerce Director, Head of Ecommerce or senior ecommerce and digital leader with a strong fashion retail background, we'd love to hear from you.
