Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Wigan area who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse / First Aider to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis with an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced first aider, school nurse, healthcare assistant, or medical professional looking to work within a busy and rewarding secondary school environment, supporting the health, wellbeing, and safety of students aged 11-16.

The Role:

Providing first aid treatment and medical support to students and staff throughout the school day
Responding to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies
Administering medication in line with school policies and procedures
Maintaining accurate records of incidents, treatments, and medication administration
Supporting students with medical conditions and individual healthcare plans
Liaising with parents, carers, school staff, and external healthcare professionals
Ensuring the medical room and first aid supplies are fully stocked and maintained
Promoting the health and wellbeing of students across the school

Requirements:

Valid First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent)
Previous experience within a school, healthcare, nursing, or first aid setting
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
A caring, empathetic, and proactive approach
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is ESSENTIAL for this role
