If you're a Building Surveyor or Project Manager who wants more ownership, broader project exposure and a genuine say in how work is delivered, this is a role worth exploring.
An established, independent multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation built over more than 40 years is looking to strengthen their team. The business brings Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and Designers together under one roof, which means projects are genuinely collaborative.
The role sits at the point where technical surveying, design coordination and project leadership come together. You'll be involved from the earliest client conversations through to completion, helping shape education and commercial projects while managing programmes, budgets, stakeholders and delivery outcomes.
It's a strong fit for someone who enjoys being close to the client, wants variety beyond a narrow surveying remit, and is ready to step into a visible position where their work can influence both project success and the continued growth of the consultancy.
Responsibilities of the Role
This is a hands-on, client-facing role with real ownership across the project life cycle. Responsibilities are likely to include:
Managing a range of education and commercial projects from inception through to completion
Acting as the primary client contact throughout the project life cycle
Co-ordinating design teams and contributing to technical solutions
Managing programmes, budgets and project delivery
Administering contracts and overseeing procurement processes
Working closely with architects and engineers to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes
Building long-term client relationships beyond project completion
Supporting the continued growth of the organisation's surveying and project management offering
About You
We're interested in people who combine technical credibility with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You'll ideally have:
Five or more years' experience within Building Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline
Experience managing projects and leading client relationships
Strong understanding of budgets, programmes and project delivery
Contract administration experience
Broad construction and building design knowledge
Understanding of current health and safety legislation
The ability to communicate confidently with clients, consultants and contractors
A related degree in the Built Environment
MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation
Relevant experience with Education projects and ability to obtain DBS clearance
What's on Offer?
You'll be joining a respected independent consultancy where individual contribution still matters. You'll have direct access to decision makers, meaningful client exposure and the chance to be part of a growing surveying and project management team.
The multidisciplinary setup also gives the role more depth. Surveyors, Project Managers, Architects and Engineers work closely together, creating an environment where technical input is valued, decisions move quickly and projects benefit from joined-up thinking from the outset.
Alongside the project variety and client exposure, the role offers:
A competitive salary and benefits package
Clear scope to progress as the team and client base continue to grow
Ongoing training, professional development and support towards continued technical growth
Generous annual leave entitlement
Exposure to a varied portfolio of education and commercial projects
A genuinely collaborative environment with in-house design, engineering and surveying expertise
The chance to influence projects, strengthen client relationships and help shape the future of the surveying and project management offering
Ready?
If you or someone you know is looking for a role with more ownership, more variety and more visibility, this is the right next step. You'll be joining a respected independent consultancy where you can work closely with clients, collaborate with talented technical teams and play a real part in delivering projects that matter.
If this sounds like the kind of move you'd like to explore, let's talk.
