Senior Mechanical Engineer required for an industry leading manufacturer. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a truly unique role offering variation and career development opportunities.
This role would suit an experienced and hands on mechanical engineer with a strong understanding of prototyping. This role would suit candidates from any industry background such as automotive, aviation, machine maintenance and repair etc.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be joining the time at an exiting time as the company are developing a new prototype for their bespoke products. You will work closely with the Technical Lead and Development Engineer to build, develop and refine the new machine and will be given ownership of the mechanical tasks.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer Role:
· Taking mechanical ownership of the build, development, testing and refinement of a new prototype
· Manufacture and modify components using manual milling, lathes, and workshop equipment (training can be provided)
· Working with engineering drawings and CAD models
· Identifying issues during build and testing, investigate root causes and implement solutions
· Identifying ways to simplify designs and work with the team to ensure repeatability
· Provide training to the wider production team once prototype is rolled out
The Senior Mechanical Engineer Candidate:
· Hands on mechanical experience – assembly, service or repair
· Any industry background
· Automotive, aviation, machine maintenance or similar
