Clarity House London is a non-clinical community support organisation creating spaces where adults can talk, connect, access practical support and find appropriate pathways forward.
Through our support groups, community conversations, one-to-one services, public engagement and signposting, we provide accessible support for people navigating different stages and challenges in life.
We’re looking for compassionate, curious and community-minded people to join us as Clarity Fellows.
This is a flexible volunteer opportunity requiring a minimum of just 4 hours per month, designed for people who want to make a meaningful contribution to their community while developing practical experience in community support.
As a Clarity Fellow, you’ll be part of the public-facing Clarity House team. You’ll have opportunities to support our Let’s Talk About It sessions, facilitated support groups, live discussions on X (Twitter), public events and community outreach activities.
You’ll listen, engage, signpost and help create spaces where people feel comfortable talking about the things that matter to them.
You’ll have opportunities to:
- Support our Let’s Talk About It listening sessions.
- Attend and chaperone Clarity House support groups.
- Participate in live community conversations on X (Twitter) with VOA.
- Represent Clarity House at public events, conferences and community activities.
- Welcome and engage with members of the public.
- Listen to people in a respectful and non-judgemental way.
- Help people understand the support available through Clarity House.
- Provide appropriate information and signposting.
- Support community surveys, consultations and public-interest initiatives.
- Recognise when someone needs additional support and refer or escalate appropriately.
- Shadow Clarity Guides as part of your development.
- Develop practical experience in safeguarding, professional boundaries and community support.
The role remains focused on signposting and peer/community support rather than the structured triage and ongoing member monitoring undertaken by Clarity Guides.

- Can commit at least 4 hours per month.
Previous professional support experience is not essential.
Being a Clarity Fellow is designed to give you meaningful experience rather than simply asking you to “volunteer some hours.”

We want the Clarity Fellow programme to provide a genuine opportunity to develop.
Clarity Fellow (Volunteer) → Trainee Clarity Guide (Paid) → Clarity Guide
After a minimum of six months as a Clarity Fellow, successful Fellows may be considered for progression into our paid Trainee Clarity Guide programme, subject to satisfactory performance, required training and checks, suitability and available positions.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per calendar month.
You can complete this flexibly — for example, through one four-hour event, two two-hour activities, or a combination of support groups, Let's Talk About It sessions, X Live discussions and community activities.
You’re also welcome to take on additional opportunities when available.
This is a non-clinical volunteer role. Clarity Fellows do not provide counselling, therapy, diagnosis, clinical assessments or independent case management.
The current Clarity House role assessment places Fellows at Basic DBS as the default, with the level reassessed if their actual duties materially change.
