How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Duties

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lecturer specialising in Computer Games Development and Animation to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, designing innovative curricula, and fostering a stimulating learning environment for students aspiring to excel in the fields of game design and animation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of future industry professionals through high-quality teaching and mentorship.

    Responsibilities:

    You will deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching to students on Games Development programmes, which may include:

    • Game design and development using various engines .
    • 2D/3D asset creation and animation.
    • Programming, scripting or blueprinting.
    • Narrative design and storytelling for games.
    • Industry workflows and project-based learning.

    You may be called upon for short or long-term cover, including planned absences, sickness cover, or additional teaching needs.

    Qualifications Required
    • A UK Bachelors and Master`s degree [or equivalent] in Computer games design and development
    • A strong track of records of ongoing teaching and games design
    • Teaching experience demonstrating both commitment and success or a demonstrated capacity to develop the skills that enable effective and inspirational participation in teaching
    • Demonstrated research and teaching experience in the area of videogames
    • Proven ability to successfully attract and supervise research students
    • Demonstrated ability to attract student public funding and/or industry support
    • High level of oral and written communication skills in English
    • Proven ability to interact effectively with students, staff, industry and the community.
    • PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN BILINGUAL SPEKERS OF ENGLISH/RUMANIAN

    We are looking for a passionate and industry-aware Games Development and Animation lecturer who can inspire students and deliver practical, engaging learning.

    Essential:

    • Strong practical knowledge of game development and animation.
    • Experience delivering practical, project-based learning.
    • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong organisational, teamwork and communication skills.
    • Ability to adapt teaching to different student needs and learning styles.

    Desirable:

    • Teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd or equivalent.
    • Recent industry experience in games, animation or interactive media.
    • Experience with industry-standard game engines and creative software.
    • Local candidate or ability to teach on campus as required.
