How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you managing your team in the gaps between running too many jobs, chasing fees and drawing work someone else could do?

Most studios hand you the title and then fill your week with everything except the people. Twenty minutes here, a rushed catch up there, and the team never really gets you.

Here the people are your job. Not the part you fit around the real work.

If what you actually enjoy is the coordination, deciding who goes on what, catching the job before it slips, getting somebody ready for their step up, that's the bulk of this role rather than a slice of it.

You'd build the team out to around fifteen over the next eighteen months. The resourcing is yours to call, reading the workload coming, working out where the gaps are, and recruiting against them.

Business development isn't yours to worry about. No bids to write, no pitching, no chasing work that might never land in your team's lap. Your pipeline is already there.

Your projects would be mostly significant workplace projects and large city living residential schemes, with the odd piece of retail alongside. You'd be making sure your team meets or exceeds expectations.

At any one time you'd be closest to the two or three biggest projects, keeping a lighter overview on the smaller ones and whoever's running them.

£50,000 to £55,000 basic, with a significant bonus paid twice a year in December and July.

A 5% pension contribution from them, regular pay reviews, and a genuinely enhanced maternity and paternity policy.

You'll need Revit to do this job.

    What you'll be doing

    • Running the Leeds interiors team day to day.
    • Bringing new designers in and developing the ones you've got.
    • Staying closest to the biggest schemes on the board.
    • Speaking for your team at leadership level, and bringing the direction back down.
    • Holding the client, consultant and contractor relationships across the business.

    What you'll need

    • Interior design experience at Senior or Associate level.
    • Revit. This one's genuinely non negotiable.
    • Real experience managing people. It counts for more here than a glamorous project list.

    About the company

A 300+ person multidisciplinary business nationwide with a small, fast moving interiors team. Well structured, well resourced, and putting real money behind interiors rather than treating it as a service arm.
