How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a London local authority, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major highways, transport, public realm and active travel programmes. This contract role will oversee complex, high-value capital projects supporting transport, regeneration, climate change and place-making priorities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the development and delivery of strategically significant highways and transport programmes
    Manage projects through the full project lifecycle, including business case development, feasibility, design, engagement, approvals, procurement and implementation
    Provide senior project leadership across multi-disciplinary teams and the wider capital portfolio
    Act as the senior client representative for major programmes and projects
    Manage programme governance, funding arrangements, risks, budgets and delivery milestones
    Build effective relationships with elected Members, senior officers, Transport for London, government bodies, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders
    Lead political and strategic stakeholder engagement to support successful programme delivery
    Promote continuous improvement, resilience and consistent project management standards across the Capital Projects service

    Job Requirements:

    Significant experience managing major highways, transport, public realm or active travel programmes
    Strong knowledge of transport infrastructure and capital project delivery
    Experience leading projects from business case development and feasibility through to construction and implementation
    Understanding of project governance, procurement, funding management and risk control within a public sector environment
    Ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams with a high degree of autonomy and professional judgement
    Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior officers, elected representatives and external delivery partners
    Excellent communication, negotiation, reporting and influencing abilities
    Strong understanding of transport, regeneration, climate change and place-making priorities
