Business Analyst / Lead Business Analyst

Location: Harlow (3 days per week onsite)
Duration: 12 month contract
Rates: Inside IR35

Role details:

We are recruiting both a Business Analyst and Lead Business Analyst to support a major enterprise transformation programme. Working across Discovery, Fit-Gap Analysis, Design, Build, Testing and Deployment, you will help ensure business needs are effectively captured, analysed and translated into successful solution outcomes. Candidates will be considered at either Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst level based on experience.

Key Responsibilities not limited to:

Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to capture business capabilities, processes and requirements.
Elicit, document, validate and manage requirements throughout the programme lifecycle.
Develop business scenarios, user stories, process maps, acceptance criteria and other BA deliverables.
Maintain requirements traceability from business need through to design, build, testing and deployment.
Support Fit-Gap Analysis, identifying business impacts, risks, dependencies and required decisions.
Collaborate with SMEs, architects, developers, testers and programme stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Support testing activities through the creation of test scenarios and business acceptance criteria.

Additional Responsibilities for Lead Business Analysts -

Lead the Business Analysis workstream across a large transformation programme.
Define BA strategy, governance, standards, quality controls and delivery plans.
Coordinate Business Analysts, SMEs and cross-functional teams.
Manage BA priorities, risks, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Provide leadership and direction across Discovery, Fit-Gap and Design activities.

Essential Experience required:

Business Analyst -

Experience eliciting, documenting and validating business requirements.
Strong attention to detail, including process mapping, requirements traceability and documentation.
Experience supporting Discovery, transformation or change programmes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.

Lead Business Analyst -

Proven experience leading Business Analysis teams or workstreams on large transformation programmes.
Strong Fit-Gap Analysis and requirements traceability experience.
Experience defining BA governance, methodologies and quality standards.
Hands-on leadership style with accountability for end-to-end BA delivery.

Desirable Experience:

Experience converting business scenarios and requirements into end-to-end acceptance tests.
Knowledge of QTest, Playwright or similar behavioural testing frameworks.
ERP or enterprise transformation experience, including SAP S/4HANA, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
Experience within defence, government, regulated or secure environments.
Existing SC Clearance.
Relevant Business Analysis qualifications (BCS, IIBA or equivalent).

For Business Analyst, you'll have strong requirements gathering and documentation skills, with experience supporting transformation programmes and producing high-quality, traceable outputs.

For Lead Business Analyst, you'll bring proven leadership experience, having successfully defined and overseen the Business Analysis approach across major transformation initiatives, whilst coordinating BA teams, SMEs and delivery stakeholders
