How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Arabic-Speaking Teaching Assistant
Orpington | Full Time | £110–£120 per day | Potential Permanent Position

Are you an Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant who wants to make a genuine difference to a young person's education, confidence and independence?

We are looking for a dedicated Arabic-speaking TA to provide individualised support to a student at a highly specialist further education setting in Orpington.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is patient, compassionate, encouraging and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

    🌟 Why this role?
You will work closely with one student, providing consistent and personalised support throughout their college experience. The role is about much more than classroom assistance — you will help the student to communicate, participate, develop confidence and become increasingly independent.

The college takes a highly individualised approach, with students receiving bespoke learning plans and support designed around their individual needs. Students are supported to develop the skills they need for education, employment, independent living and life beyond college.

    💬 Arabic-speaking ability is essential
Your ability to communicate confidently in Arabic and English will be particularly valuable in helping the student feel understood, supported and included.

You don't need to be an experienced SEN specialist to be considered. We would be interested in hearing from candidates with backgrounds in:

    Teaching Assistance / Learning Support
    SEN or SEND
    Youth work
    Education
    Care or support work
    Community work
    Psychology or related fields
Supporting young people or adults with additional needsMost importantly, you should have the right attitude, patience and commitment to build a positive relationship with the student.

    ❤️ A college with a real purpose
This is a specialist environment focused on helping young people with vision impairment develop the skills, confidence and independence to achieve their ambitions.
    The organisation's values are:
    TRUST – Respect and accountability
ENERGY – Straight-talking, constantly learning and improving
AMBITION – Confronting reality and driving results
MOTIVATION – Putting vision-impaired children and young people first and looking for solutions rather than problems
The overall ethos is simple: help young people live life without limits.

💼 The opportunityPosition: Arabic-Speaking Teaching Assistant
    Location: Orpington
    Hours: Full Time
    Rate: £110–£120 per day
Contract: Initial temporary position with a strong possibility of becoming permanent after approximately 6–12 weeks
    Start: ASAP

This could be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to secure a long-term career in specialist education, while making a meaningful difference from day one.

🚆 Excellent transport linksThe college is based close to Orpington Station, which has direct services towards several major London stations and beyond.

The role could therefore suit candidates travelling from areas including:
London Bridge • New Cross • Lewisham • Hither Green • Grove Park • Chislehurst • Petts Wood • Bromley South • Sevenoaks • St Mary Cray • Swanley

There are also direct services connecting Orpington with London Victoria and London Charing Cross, making the location accessible from a wide area.

⭐ What we're looking forWe're looking for someone who is:
✔ Fluent or highly confident in Arabic and English
