How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Play a pivotal role as aFinance Business Partner, Projectsand Costings at YeovilCollege, where your financial insight will directly shape the future of education, commercialgrowth and major investment projects. This is a high-impact role for a commerciallymindedfinanceprofessional who enjoys working at the heart of decision-making, influencing strategy and delivering value across a diverse and ambitious organisation.

    You will turn insight into impact, shaping how the College invests, grows and delivers. From costingcurriculum programmes, apprenticeships and new activity to building robust models that stand up to funding scrutiny, your analysiswill drive confident, informed decisions. Partnering closely with curriculum teams and MIS, you will challenge assumptions, strengthen financial viabilityand influence curriculum planning. You will also take a commerciallead, improve the performance of the College’s outlets and uncovering new opportunities to grow income. Alongside this, you will steer the financialplanning and control of major projects from bid to delivery, overseeing forecasting, grant claims, capital spend, procurement and project accounting. With involvement in flagship initiatives such as the campus Big Build, plus responsibility for fixed assets, management accounts support and audits, your work will be central to delivering excellent service and advancing the College’s strategic ambitions.Ready to make an impact?     What we'relooking for:

    Strong experience producing management accounts and turning financial data into meaningful insight.

    *

    Confident in financial planning, forecasting and cash flow management, with a keen eye for commercial opportunities and risk.

    *

    CIMA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified, with a commitment to continuing your professional development.

    *

    A naturalbusiness partner and influencer, able to build relationships, challenge thinking and motivate people at all levels.

    *

    Anexcellent communicator, able to make complex financial information clear, engaging and accessible to both internal and external stakeholders.
