Aspire People are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Leicester and the surrounding areas.
We have full-time, part-time, long-term and day-to-day supply opportunities available, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain on task.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and confidently.
Take registers and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
Support students with their learning and provide encouragement where needed.
Monitor student engagement, behaviour and completion of work.
Provide feedback to teachers regarding lessons and student behaviour.
Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour procedures.
Work effectively with teaching and support staff.
Carry out duties such as break/lunch supervision when required.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills.
Confident supervising groups of secondary-aged students.
Reliable, professional and adaptable.
Excellent communication skills.
A calm and positive approach to managing students.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Teaching qualifications are not essential, although relevant education experience is highly desirable.
