How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teacher - Derby and Surrounding Areas

    SEN/SEND | SEMH | Primary, Secondary and Post-16

    Teacher supply pay: £120-£271 per day, depending on the role, pay scale and school
    Location: Derby, Mickleover, Littleover, Allestree, Chaddesden, Spondon, Borrowash, Belper and nearby areas
    Contracts: Day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term, maternity cover and permanent
    Hours: Full-time and part-time

    We welcome ECTs, qualified teachers and applicants with equivalent experience teaching in UK schools. Mainstream teachers with experience supporting pupils with SEND are also encouraged to get in touch.

    SEN/SEND Teachers - all specialisms

    We welcome experience in specialist schools, alternative provision, pupil referral units, resource bases and mainstream SEND support, including:

    Autism/ASC and ADHD
    Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
    Moderate and severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)
    Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
    Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
    Specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyspraxia
    Sensory impairments, physical disabilities and complex needs

    Experience in nurture provision, positive behaviour support, tutoring and personalised learning is also welcome. You don't need experience across every specialism-tell us where your strengths lie.

    Teaching that meets individual needs

    Opportunities may span EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and post-16, including subject teaching, functional skills, life skills and preparation for adulthood.

    Depending on the placement, your role may involve:

    Adapting lessons to pupils' learning, communication and sensory needs
    Building trusting relationships and supporting emotional regulation
    Working with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals
    Supporting EHCP outcomes and celebrating individual progress
    Planning, assessment and reporting for longer-term assignments

    We'll discuss each setting, its pupils and the responsibilities before you accept a placement.
