How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant looking for a rewarding night-based position within a well-established residential care home?

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to join a beautiful residential care home set within five acres of scenic Buckinghamshire countryside, close to Newport Pagnell.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a family-run care service with a long-standing and highly experienced team, where quality care, dignity, choice and respect are at the heart of everything they do.

The home currently supports around 30 residents and provides residential care for elderly and frail individuals, including people living with dementia. The service also provides both long-term residential care and respite care.

You will play an important role within the night team, providing high-quality, person-centred care while supporting colleagues and ensuring residents are safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night.

    About the Home

This established residential care home is set within approximately five acres of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, providing a peaceful and welcoming environment for residents.

The home is registered for up to 35 residents and currently supports around 30 individuals with varying care needs, including elderly and frail residents and people living with dementia.

The home has created a genuinely homely environment where residents' individuality is respected and their wishes and preferences are central to the care and support they receive.

The care team takes the time to get to know each resident, understand their background, routines, preferences, likes and dislikes, and tailor care around their individual needs.

The home places great importance on continuity and consistency, with a highly experienced and long-standing staff team providing familiar and friendly faces for residents.

    The Job Role

As Senior Care Assistant, you will work as a key member of the night team, providing high-quality care and support to residents while taking a senior role in ensuring the smooth running of the shift.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents
Supporting residents with personal care and daily living needs
Promoting dignity, choice, independence and respect at all times
    Supporting residents living with dementia
Administering medication where appropriately trained and authorised
    Monitoring residents throughout the night
Responding to residents' needs in a calm and compassionate manner
Identifying and reporting any changes in residents' health or wellbeing
Completing care records and documentation accurately
Supporting and guiding Care Assistants working alongside you
Taking responsibility as a senior member of the night team
Ensuring residents remain safe, comfortable and settled throughout the night
Communicating effectively with colleagues and management
Maintaining consistently high standards of care throughout the shift

    About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant who is confident working nights and passionate about delivering excellent care.

    You will ideally have:

Previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant
    Experience within residential elderly care
Experience supporting people living with dementia
A strong understanding of person-centred care
A caring, compassionate and respectful approach

Confidence taking responsibility during a night shift
The ability to support and guide other care staff
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
    A reliable and professional approach
