Lynx Employment Services is recruiting an Assistant Planner / Planner on behalf of an established construction business based in Sheffield.

This opportunity would suit someone in the earlier stages of their construction planning career who has a practical understanding of how construction projects are planned and delivered.

This is not a Project Controls or P6-focused planning position. We are looking for someone who can produce clear, practical construction programmes and work closely with pre-construction and operational teams.

## The Role

Working as part of an experienced construction team, you will support the planning and programming of projects from pre-construction through to delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

Producing practical construction and pre-construction programmes

Preparing programmes for tender and pre-construction submissions

Developing short-term and detailed programmes for construction activities

Producing straightforward programmes for activities such as scaffolding, site set-up and sequencing of works

Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender information to understand programme requirements

Working with estimating, commercial, design and operational teams

Updating programmes as projects and information develop

Identifying sequencing, access and programme considerations

Preparing clear programme information for clients

Attending meetings and confidently explaining programme logic and proposed sequencing

Supporting the wider planning team across multiple projects

## About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who have some construction planning experience and now want to develop their career with an established contractor.

You may currently be working as an:

Assistant Planner \| Junior Planner \| Construction Planner \| Trainee Planner
You should have:

Experience within building construction or a main contractor environment
An understanding of practical construction sequencing
Some experience producing construction or pre-construction programmes
The ability to interpret drawings and construction information
Good communication and presentation skills
Confidence working with both internal teams and clients
A practical, solutions-focused approach to planning
A genuine desire to develop your career in construction planning

Experience gained in pre-construction, site delivery or construction management alongside planning responsibilities would also be of interest.

## Important

This role is focused on practical construction planning and programming.
Candidates whose experience is predominantly in project controls, cost-loaded programmes, S-curves or highly specialised P6 planning are unlikely to be the right fit for this particular position.
