How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teaching Assistants – 3 Immediate Roles
    Barking & Dagenham
    £110–£135 per day PAYE – dependent on experience and role
    Full-time | Immediate Starts | Long-term Opportunities

    Rising Hope Education is currently recruiting for three immediate SEN Teaching Assistant opportunities across Barking & Dagenham.

    We are working with two mainstream primary schools and one specialist SEN school, with three different roles available supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

    These are long-term opportunities with scaled rates of pay ranging from approximately £110 to £135 per day PAYE, depending on the role, your experience and the responsibilities involved.

    The Roles

    Although each position is different, the common thread is simple: we are looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference to children with additional needs.

    The roles will involve supporting pupils with SEND, with a particular emphasis on Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Depending on the placement, you may be working:

    * 1:1 with an individual pupil

    * With small groups of children

    * Within a mainstream SEND/ARP provision

    * Within a specialist SEN school environment

    * Alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support professionals

    * With pupils who may communicate, regulate or engage with learning differently

    Some pupils may require support with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, transitions, social interaction or accessing the curriculum.

    Do I Need Previous School Experience?

    Not necessarily.

    Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker is certainly advantageous, but we are equally interested in speaking with people who have strong transferable experience and the right understanding of SEND.

    You may have worked within:

    * Autism or disability services

    * Residential or supported living

    * Health or social care

    * Youth work

    * Mental health services

    * Behavioural support

    * Children's services

    * Nurseries or early years

    * Community or family support

    * Psychology or child development

    * Sports coaching or mentoring

    * Other roles supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals

    What matters most is that you can demonstrate a genuine understanding of how to support a child with additional needs.

    We are particularly interested in candidates who understand that behaviour is often a form of communication and who can remain patient, consistent and emotionally regulated when supporting a child who may be struggling to communicate or regulate themselves.

    What We Are Looking For

    We would like to hear from people who are:

    * Patient, compassionate and resilient

    * Confident building positive relationships with children

    * Able to adapt their communication to the individual child

    * Comfortable working with pupils with autism and other additional needs

    * Able to follow strategies and guidance from teachers and SEN professionals

    * Calm and consistent in challenging situations

    * Reliable and committed to a long-term school placement

    * Open to learning and developing their SEND knowledge

    * Passionate about helping children feel safe, included and able to succeed

    You do not need to be fully registered with Rising Hope Education before interviewing with the school.

    If your profile is suitable, we can discuss the opportunities with you and potentially arrange an interview or trial while the remaining registration and compliance process is being completed.

    If you already hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, even better – this may allow us to fast-track your compliance and get you into work considerably quicker.

    If you do not currently have an Update Service DBS, please still apply. This does not prevent us from considering you for the opportunities.

    Pay & Working Pattern

    Daily rate: £110–£135 PAYE

    The exact rate will depend on the individual vacancy, experience and responsibilities.

    All three positions are:

    Full-time
    Monday to Friday
    School hours
    Long-term opportunities
    Available to start immediately
