How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are working with a well-established and rapidly growing architectural metalwork specialist with an annual turnover of approximately £10 million and a strong secured pipeline of work over the next two years.

The business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of high-quality architectural metalwork and is currently delivering a £2.5 million package in East London, incorporating balconies and a range of bespoke architectural metalwork elements.

Due to continued growth and a healthy forward order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project on site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Manager to join a growing specialist contractor where there is genuine scope for long-term progression and further project opportunities.

    The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the architectural metalwork installation, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, client team, principal contractor and site-based trades to ensure the smooth delivery of the works.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the day-to-day installation and delivery of architectural metalwork on site.

    * Take responsibility for site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.

    * Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors and specialist trades.

    * Plan and monitor labour, materials, plant and site resources.

    * Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and agreed programmes.

    * Coordinate with the principal contractor and other trades to ensure interfaces are effectively managed.

    * Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or issues at an early stage.

    * Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure quality requirements are achieved.

    * Carry out regular inspections and ensure defects and snags are identified and closed out promptly.

    * Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the company's health and safety procedures.

    * Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to the project management team.

    * Review drawings, specifications and installation details, identifying any technical or sequencing issues.

    * Assist with the coordination of design, fabrication and site installation where required.

    * Manage site documentation, RAMS, permits, inspections and relevant records.

    * Liaise with the client's team, principal contractor and other stakeholders professionally and effectively.

    * Support the wider project team in achieving programme, commercial and quality objectives.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a background in architectural metalwork, structural steel, balconies, façade, cladding or another closely related specialist construction environment.

    You will ideally have:

    * Proven experience managing specialist construction packages on live sites.

    * Experience working with architectural metalwork, balconies, structural steel or similar.

    * A strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination.

    * The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

    * Experience managing installation teams and subcontractors.

    * Strong health and safety awareness.

    * Excellent organisational and communication skills.

    * The confidence to deal directly with principal contractors, clients and other trades.

    * A proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues.

    * The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

    * A strong eye for detail and quality.

Relevant SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous
