How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a background in internal refurbishment and general construction, who is confident taking ownership of site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, coordinating subcontractors and site teams, monitoring progress and maintaining strong relationships with the client and wider project team.

    The Role
As Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities.
Supporting the mobilisation and initial set-up of the project, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place prior to works commencing.
Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental and welfare across the site.
Planning and monitoring works against the agreed programme, identifying potential delays and implementing appropriate solutions.
Managing subcontractors and the wider supply chain to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
Monitoring labour, materials and resources to ensure they are used effectively and in accordance with programme and budget requirements.
Liaising with the client, consultants and project team, providing regular updates on progress and site performance.
Maintaining a strong focus on quality, ensuring works are completed to the required specification and addressing any issues promptly.
Ensuring site documentation, reporting and contractual requirements are maintained throughout the project.
Promoting a positive and professional site culture, ensuring all parties work to the required standards.
    The successful candidate will have:

SMSTS, CSCS card, First Aid at Work certification required.
Level 3 Risk Assessment qualification desirable.
    PASMA certification desirable.
    Asbestos Awareness training desirable.
A full UK driving licence required.
The ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced DBS required.
Previous experience working as a Site Manager within a construction environment, with experience managing projects from mobilisation through to completion. Internal refurbishment experience is advantageous, particularly within Education, Commercial, Industrial or Defence environments.

This is a great opportunity to join an established Southwest contractor and take a key role in the delivery of a new Plymouth project from mobilisation through to completion.
