Accounts Assistant

Location: Appleton. Warrington

Salary: £25,000.00 - £30,000.00

Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established UK haulage business in a varied, hands-on finance role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support accurate ledgers, cash control and month-end processes, with a clear scope to develop your career further.

Key Responsibilities:

Process high volumes of supplier invoices in Sage 50, match purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain supplier accounts, complete reconciliations and prepare BACS payment runs.
Raise customer invoices, allocate receipts and support credit control and statement preparation
Complete bank reconciliations and post cash receipts and payments accurately
Support month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, VAT returns and intercompany reconciliations
Assist with expenses, payroll administration, audit queries and finance process improvements

Experience:

Previous Accounts Assistant experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation required.
Have working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar software, plus confident Excel skills
Be accurate, organised and able to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders
An AAT qualification, would be advantageous
Experience in haulage, logistics or transport preferredProcessing Your Data
