How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BUYING ADMIN ASSISTANT | ONLINE RETAILER ACROSS UK & US

    5 DAYS IN OFFICE | WOMENSWEAR AND MENSWEAR | MANCHESTER

    Join a growing premium retailer where you'll play a key role in supporting the Buying team across the full product lifecycle. Working closely with Buyers, suppliers and internal teams, you'll help bring products from initial development through to launch, gaining valuable hands-on experience across product, suppliers, critical path and trade. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Buying within a fast-paced retail environment.

    The Role

    Support the Buyer with the day-to-day management of seasonal ranges from development through to launch.

    Assist with product development, including samples, product information, pricing and approvals.

    Liaise with suppliers to request samples, chase information and ensure key deadlines are met.

    Maintain and update critical path information, highlighting any potential delays or issues to the Buyer.

    Support with range building, product selection and preparation for buying meetings.

    Assist with competitor and market research to identify new trends, products and commercial opportunities.

    Help manage purchase orders, product information and delivery details, ensuring systems are kept accurate and up to date.

    Work closely with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Marketing and other internal teams to ensure products are ready for launch.

    Attend supplier meetings, showroom appointments and trade events where required.

    Support the Buyer with sales analysis, reporting and ad hoc commercial projects.

    Build strong relationships with suppliers and help resolve any product, sample or delivery issues.

    Take ownership of allocated tasks and look for ways to improve processes within the Buying team.

    About You

    Previous experience in a Buying or similar retail head office role.

    Genuine passion for product and a strong interest in developing a career within Buying.

    Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

    Confident working with numbers and proficient in Microsoft Excel.

    Comfortable communicating with suppliers and internal teams.

    Able to manage multiple priorities and keep on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Proactive, commercially aware and keen to learn.

    A team player who is happy to get involved and take ownership of tasks.

    Previous fashion, retail or product experience is desirable.
