How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

At ARA Environmental, we're looking for a Technical Consultant to join our team based in Faversham, working with clients across the South-east. As part of the Complii Group of companies, this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within the water hygiene industry, combining hands-on technical work with customer account management while developing your knowledge through ongoing training and practical experience.

We're looking for someone who can take responsibility for managing customer accounts while travelling to client sites to inspect, test, and maintain their water systems. You'll be involved in everything from water sampling, temperature monitoring, and closed system analysis through to TMV servicing, cleaning and disinfection, and advising clients on remedial actions, ensuring work is completed professionally and in line with current legislation and industry best practice.

What you receive for joining us

We offer an excellent salary including 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, an additional day off for your birthday, company pension, a collaborative and supportive working environment, and ongoing training and development through a structured programme designed to help you build your technical knowledge and develop a long-term career within the industry.

Here is a look at some of the things you will be doing

Managing and coordinating customer accounts while travelling to client sites across the South East to monitor water systems for hygiene and temperature control, take and analyse water samples, and identify potential issues including risks associated with Legionella bacteria
Carrying out a range of water hygiene activities including closed system analysis and dosing, TMV servicing, shower descaling, and the physical cleaning and disinfection of water systems, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards
Working directly with clients to communicate technical findings, provide clear advice on required remedial actions, produce accurate reports, and build strong relationships through a professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
Continually developing your technical knowledge of approved methods, current legislation, and industry best practice, with the opportunity to broaden your experience into areas such as cooling tower management as your knowledge and capability develop

Can you show experience in some of these areas

Previous experience or knowledge within water hygiene, water treatment, plumbing, building services, or a similar technical environment would be beneficial, although ongoing training and development will be provided to support you in the role
Good communication and report writing skills, with the confidence to interact professionally with customers, explain findings clearly, and maintain accurate records of the work you complete
A practical and solutions-focused approach, with good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a small team while managing your workload across multiple client sites
A full valid UK driving licence and a reasonable level of physical fitness, with the flexibility to travel throughout the South East and occasionally work weekends or outside normal working hours when required

If you feel you have the skills and drive to make an impact, even if you don't meet every requirement above, we'd still love to hear from you.

ARA Environmental is part of the Complii Group of companies, a leading integrated provider of safety and regulatory compliance services across our water, air, fire, electrical, and lifts & escalator divisions. Together, we support organisations nationwide to operate safely, compliantly, and responsibly. This role offers the opportunity to join an established water hygiene business, develop your technical expertise, and build a long-term career while benefiting from the scale, support, and opportunities of a growing national Group
