How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee major water and civil engineering projects across the North West. This is a permanent position responsible for commercial performance, programme delivery, operational resources, health and safety, quality and customer relationships across multiple sites.

    Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, programming and successful delivery of civil engineering and water projects, ensuring schemes progress without unnecessary delays.

Manage procurement, subcontractor engagement, contract administration, cost plans, risks, opportunities and commercial reporting.
Oversee tender handovers, pre-start meetings, project reviews, progress meetings and accurate records of actions and decisions.
Ensure temporary and permanent design activities are appropriately managed, resourced and delivered in line with project requirements.
Provide strong leadership across operational teams, including workforce allocation, recruitment, reporting lines, training and progression.
Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality, ensuring alignment with legal, client and internal requirements.
Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, communities and other stakeholders while minimising the impact of works.

    Job Requirements:

Extensive experience managing projects within a civil engineering or water environment.
Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme management, risk management and cost control.
    Understanding of NEC contracts
Experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
Experience supporting pre-qualification and tendering processes for multidisciplinary projects.
