How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Press Brake Operative
    Location: Stoke-on-Trent
    Hours: Full-Time, Dayshift
    Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm
    Pay Rate: £14.50 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

    About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operative to join our busy manufacturing team in Stoke-on-Trent.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC press brake machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components to specification. Applicants ideally have previous experience operating either Amada or Trumpf press brake machines and be capable of working from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.

    Key Responsibilities
    Set up and operate CNC Press Brake machinery.

    Read and interpret engineering drawings and works orders.

    Select appropriate tooling and set machines to required specifications.

    Produce components accurately and consistently to customer requirements.

    Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.

    Measure and inspect finished products using gauges and measuring equipment.

    Ensure work is completed to required tolerances and quality standards.

    Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

    Complete production paperwork accurately.

    Support the wider production team as required.

    Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures.

    Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
    Previous experience operating CNC Press Brake machines.

    Ideally. experience using Amada or Trumpf machinery.

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

    Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.

    Experience using measuring equipment and working to tight tolerances.

    Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Desirable
    Previous experience within a sheet metal fabrication environment.

    Experience with programming or editing press brake programmes.
