How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC OperatorLocation: Stoke-on-Trent
    Hours: Full-Time
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and organised CNC Operator to support Production Supervision, Dispatch, Stock Control, and Administrative functions while operating and overseeing CNC machinery.

    This is a varied role that would suit an experienced CNC Operator who is looking to take on additional responsibility within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, stock is accurately managed, and dispatch activities are completed effectively.

    Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Operations
    Read and interpret production paperwork, technical drawings, and specifications.

    Safely load and unload raw materials and completed components.

    Set up and operate CNC machinery to perform drilling and routing operations.

    Run full production programmes to manufacture high volumes of components.

    Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where necessary to optimise production output and quality.

    Use gauges, measuring instruments, and inspection equipment to ensure tolerances are achieved and recorded.

    Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, tooling changes, and machine upkeep.

    Carry out tooling offsets and adjustments as required.

    Ensure compliance with all quality standards, procedures, and instructions.

    Additional Duties
    Support the dispatch function to ensure products are accurately prepared and shipped.

    Maintain accurate production and stock records.

    Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support business operations.

    Skills, Experience & QualificationsEssential
    Certificate or Diploma in an Engineering discipline.

    Several years' experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.

    Computer literate with basic programming knowledge.

    Experience using CAD/CAM software.

    Good understanding of FANUC control systems, including editing and programme adjustments.

    Experience using tooling, fixtures, gauges, and calibration equipment.

    Ability to carry out tooling changes and offsets.

    Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    Desirable
    FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence.

    Previous experience supporting production supervision or dispatch activities.

    Stock control and inventory management experience.
