How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MET TECHNICIAN

    Location: Yeovil, Somerset
    OTE: £50,000+
    Basic Salary: £35,000 - £45,000+ DOE
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

    THE ROLE
    As an MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs to accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs to accident-damaged vehicles.
    ·Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, interior and exterior components.
    ·Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults where required.
    ·Working safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer repair methods and industry standards.
    ·Working closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and other Bodyshop colleagues to maintain an efficient repair process.
    ·Ensuring all completed work meets the required quality and safety standards.
    ·Completing allocated repairs within agreed timescales while maintaining excellent workmanship.
    ·Maintaining tools, equipment, and the working area in a clean and professional condition.

    ABOUT YOU
    This opportunity would suit an experienced MET Technician / MET Technician - Mechanical, Electrical & Trim / Vehicle MET Technician who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

    You'll ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as an MET Technician within a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
    ·Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
    ·Strong knowledge of modern vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim systems.
    ·The ability to diagnose faults and carry out accurate mechanical and electrical repairs.
    ·Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
    ·The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.
    ·Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a skilled workshop team.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
