TeacherActive works with a number of welcoming, inclusive and supportive primary schools across Derby and Derbyshire. We are seeking passionate Primary Teachers to provide flexible day-to-day and short-term cover.
This is a great opportunity to experience different school environments, develop your classroom practice and work around your other commitments. Supply bookings can also lead to longer-term roles when the right placement becomes available.
Your responsibilities may include:
Teaching across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
Delivering lessons using plans and resources provided by the school
Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs
Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
Creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Supporting pupils with different abilities and backgrounds
Marking completed work and providing feedback
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
The successful Primary Teacher will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status/QTS
Have knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum
Be passionate about children’s education and development
Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Be supportive, inclusive and approachable
Be flexible and confident working across different settings
Be reliable and able to adapt quickly
Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
Understand safeguarding, KCSIE and the Prevent Duty, or be willing to undertake relevant CPD training
