How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supervisor

    Salary – Competitive
    Hours – Average of 45 hours per week
    Location – Suffolk, IP3 1SJ

    As a Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will support the Site Manager in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the transfer station. You will help manage site operations, supervise employees and contractors, maintain high health and safety standards, and ensure excellent customer service while meeting operational objectives.

    This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

    What will you be doing?

    - Assisting the Site Manager with the safe and efficient operation of the transfer station
    - Supervising site operatives and allocating resources to maximise productivity
    - Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and operational procedures
    - Operating and overseeing plant and equipment in line with company policies
    - Managing weighbridge operations and maintaining accurate records
    - Supporting the training, mentoring and development of site employees
    - Monitoring housekeeping standards across operational and administration areas
    - Ensuring agency workers, visitors and contractors receive site inductions
    - Deputising for the Site Manager when required
    - Providing excellent customer service and assisting site users where appropriate

    What are we looking for?

    - Experience within a waste, logistics, transport or maintenance operation
    - Previous supervisory or team leader experience
    - Experience operating heavy plant
    - Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
    - Experience working within a customer-focused environment
    - Familiarity with weighbridge systems and operations
    - Computer literacy and good administrative skills
    - Strong communication and numeracy skills
    - A positive attitude with a commitment to improving safety and compliance
    - Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
