SEN Teaching Assistant - Rugby

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long-term positions for the full academic year, with opportunities to secure a permanent contract through the school.

Hays Education are working with a specialist SEN setting in Rugby to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants. We have opportunities available for candidates seeking long-term positions for the full academic year.

Your new role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), SEMH, learning difficulties, and communication needs. You will work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting with classroom activities and interventions
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and communication development
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
Supporting personal care where required
What you'll need to succeed

Experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs
Backgrounds in education, care, support work, youth work, residential care, or similar are welcomed
A patient, resilient, and caring approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A passion for supporting young people with SEN
