How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

At White Lift Services, we're continuing to grow, and as part of the Complii Group of companies, we're looking for an experienced Lift Technical Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lift professional to take technical ownership across our maintenance, repair, modernisation, and installation activities, providing expert guidance to our engineers and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

We're looking for a Lift Technical Manager who can provide strong technical leadership across the business, supporting engineers with everything from complex fault-finding and diagnostics through to major modernisation and installation projects. You'll be responsible for ensuring our engineering activities remain compliant with current lift regulations and industry standards while helping us continually improve technical capability and operational performance.

You will play a pivotal role within our engineering team, acting as the technical escalation point for complex and high-risk works while supporting the development of Senior Engineers, engineers, and apprentices. From day one, you'll work closely with our service and repair teams, combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership and development to solve challenges, strengthen engineering competency, and maintain consistently high standards across White Lift Services.

What you receive for joining us

We offer an excellent salary including 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, an additional day off for your birthday, a collaborative and supportive working environment, and the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders who value ownership, communication, and customer-focused delivery.

Here is a look at some of the things you will be doing

Providing day-to-day technical support to our lift engineers, assisting with complex fault-finding and diagnostic work, attending sites where required to troubleshoot challenging technical issues, and acting as the escalation point for high-risk or high-complexity jobs
Providing technical leadership across lift modernisation and installation projects, reviewing job specifications and general arrangement drawings, offering guidance throughout tender and installation stages, and overseeing testing, commissioning, and technical sign-off
Maintaining strong knowledge of current lift regulations, standards, and industry best practice, ensuring our engineering teams consistently work in accordance with these requirements while identifying and implementing opportunities to improve technical and operational performance
Supporting the training, development, and competency of our engineering team, including Senior Engineers and apprentices, working closely with service and repair engineers to strengthen technical capability, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement across the business

Can you show experience in some of these areas

Significant technical experience within the lift industry across areas such as maintenance, repair, modernisation, installation, fault-finding, testing, and commissioning, with the confidence to provide expert guidance on complex technical challenges
An NVQ Level 4 qualification in Lift Engineering or a similar relevant qualification, combined with strong and up-to-date knowledge of lift regulations, industry standards, compliance requirements, and recognised engineering best practice
Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with experience supporting, mentoring, and developing engineers at different levels and the ability to provide clear guidance, confidently make technical decisions, and act as an escalation point when required
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to review technical challenges across a business and identify practical opportunities to improve performance, competency, and quality

If you feel you have the skills and drive to make an impact, even if you don't meet every requirement above, we'd still love to hear from you.

White Lift Services is now part of the Complii Group of companies, a leading integrated provider of safety and regulatory compliance services across our water, air, fire, electrical, and lifts & escalator divisions. Together, we support organisations nationwide to operate safely, compliantly, and responsibly. This role offers the opportunity to join an established lift business at an exciting stage of its growth, while benefiting from the scale, support, and opportunities of a growing national Group
