How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sheet Metal Press Brake Operator / Workshop Operative

    Poole, Dorset | £30,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE| Permanent | Full Time

    Winsearch is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturer serving the construction industry. Due to continued business growth, we are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Press Brake Operator / Workshop Operative to join a busy and supportive production team based in Poole.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled sheet metal professional who enjoys a varied hands-on role and takes pride in producing quality finished products.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for manufacturing metal trims, flashings and bespoke profiles to customer specifications, ensuring all products meet the required quality standards and production deadlines.

    You will also support wider workshop activities as required, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set up and operate sheet metal machinery, including press brakes and guillotines
    Work with CNC equipment including turret punch machinery
    Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
    Manufacture products to precise customer requirements
    Carry out routine equipment checks before use
    Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
    Assist with stock handling, goods inward and dispatch activities
    Support loading and unloading of deliveries
    Operate a forklift where licensed and required
    Provide support within powder coating and pre-treatment areas when needed
    What We're Looking For

    Essential Skills & Experience

    Previous experience within a sheet metal fabrication environment
    Proven experience operating press brakes and guillotines
    Ability to read and understand technical drawings
    Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
    Strong communication skills
    Positive, reliable and team-focused approach
    Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
    Desirable Skills

    CNC turret punch experience
    Fibre laser cutting machine experience
    Powder coating knowledge or experience
    Valid forklift licence

    Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 4.30pm
    Friday: 8.30am to 4.00pm
