How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Site Manager

We're working with one of the UK's largest residential developers on a major development in West Sussex, and they're looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to take a key role on the project as it moves into the next stage of construction.

This is a substantial development with a long build programme ahead. Site set-up is already in place, and the initial groundworks have been completed, giving the successful Senior Site Manager the opportunity to come into the project at a really good point and take ownership as the development moves into the main build.

The developer is well known for operating at scale, with structured build processes and a clear focus on build quality and customer standards. This is very much a volume housebuilding environment, so experience of working for a PLC or large volume developer will be important.

    The Role

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery, working closely with the wider site and project team to keep construction moving safely, efficiently and to the required quality.

With the early works already completed, you'll be coming into a site where there is plenty to get your teeth into - from managing the next stages of construction and coordinating multiple trades through to keeping programme, quality and NHBC requirements on track.

    You'll be expected to:

Take ownership of your phase and drive the build programme from the current stage through to completion
Manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring work is properly planned and coordinated
Maintain high build quality and ensure construction meets NHBC standards
Monitor progress against programme and deal with issues before they become delays
Coordinate materials, labour and subcontractors across the development
Maintain strong standards around health & safety, site presentation and quality
Work closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager and wider technical/commercial teams
Carry out regular inspections and quality checks throughout the build
Support and develop more junior members of the site team where required
Ensure plots and infrastructure progress efficiently through each stage towards handover

    What We're Looking For

This role would suit an experienced Senior Site Manager who has spent time in a PLC or high-volume housebuilding environment and understands what it takes to manage a large development rather than simply individual plots.

    You'll ideally have:

Strong experience as a Senior Site Manager within residential housebuilding
A background with a PLC or large volume housebuilder
    Good knowledge of traditional construction
Strong understanding of NHBC standards and quality control
Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors
The ability to read and manage programmes and react quickly when things move off plan
    Strong organisational and communication skills
    SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
A practical approach to problem solving and the confidence to take ownership of your site

    What's On Offer

    Salary up to £85,000
    Package
Opportunity to join a major, long-term development
A site with significant future phases and plenty of scope ahead
The chance to take ownership of an important phase from the early stages of construction
Strong support from an established project and technical team
Opportunity to build on your experience within a major PLC housebuilding environment

If you're an experienced Senior Site Manager and you're looking for a project where there is real scale, longevity and plenty still to be built, this is one worth having a conversation about.
