We're looking for an experienced, approachable, and proactive HR Advisor to join our Head Office HR team. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the Group, providing practical HR advice and helping to deliver a consistent and professional people experience across our hotels.
Based at our Head Office in Cumnock, the role involves regular travel to our hotels, working closely with General Managers and department managers to provide hands-on HR support across all areas of the employee lifecycle.
- Providing practical and professional HR advice and guidance to managers across the Group.
- Supporting managers with employee relations matters including absence, conduct, capability, performance, and grievances.
- Guiding managers through HR processes, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with company policies and employment legislation.
- Attending and supporting formal employee meetings where required.
- Supporting absence management and helping managers effectively manage both short and long-term absence.
- Advising and coaching managers on effective people management and HR best practice.
- Supporting employee onboarding, probationary reviews, performance management, and employee development.
- Reviewing and preparing HR documentation, correspondence, and employee records.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures.
- Building strong relationships with General Managers and management teams across our hotels.
- Providing on-site HR support and maintaining a visible HR presence across the Group.
- Monitoring HR activity and producing reports and KPI information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensuring employee records and HR systems are accurate and maintained to a high standard.
- Supporting succession planning and identifying opportunities for internal progression.
- Supporting learning and development initiatives to upskill and develop our teams.
- Supporting organisational change and other HR projects across the Group.
- Working closely with the wider HR team to continuously improve HR processes and the employee experience.
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability, and performance management.
- Confidence advising and coaching managers at different levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to HR.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- CIPD qualification or working towards a CIPD qualification is advantageous.
- Previous experience within hospitality or another fast-paced, multi-site environment is advantageous but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across our hotel locations.
