Hall Place Equestrian Centre is looking for a confident, energetic and sales-driven individual to join our team.
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply manage enquiries and bookings — we want someone who can create opportunities, drive sales, maximise our calendar and contribute directly to revenue growth.
Who are we?
Hall Place is an established and growing equestrian centre in Reading, offering riding lessons, competitions, events, pony experiences, birthday parties, holiday activities and educational programmes for children and adults.
We have a strong community of riders and families and an exciting range of services. Our focus is now on continuing to grow — and we need the right person at the centre of that growth.
- The Role
This is a customer-facing sales and commercial role combined with front-of-house responsibilities.
You will take ownership of enquiries and bookings, actively promote our services and look for opportunities to maximise the use of our calendar. We want someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, speaking confidently to customers, following up leads, recommending services and asking for the booking.
You will be expected to:
• Drive sales and contribute to revenue growth
• Maximise bookings across our lesson and activity calendar
• Proactively identify and fill available spaces and quieter sessions
• Convert telephone, email, online and in-person enquiries into bookings
• Follow up potential customers and previous enquiries
• Promote lessons, events, experiences, parties and other Hall Place services
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell relevant services
• Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Encourage repeat bookings and support customer retention
• Monitor upcoming availability and take action rather than waiting for bookings to come in
• Manage bookings, cancellations, payments and customer enquiries
• Provide a confident, professional and welcoming front-of-house experience
• Support the administration and promotion of Hall Place activities and events
• Keep reception and our on-site shop organised and commercially presented
• Work closely with management, instructors and the wider team to identify opportunities for growth
- Who are we looking for? Sales confidence is key.
You don't need to come from the equestrian industry, but you do need to be someone who genuinely enjoys selling, speaking to people and achieving results.
You should be:
• Sales-driven and commercially minded
• Confident approaching and speaking with customers
• Comfortable making outbound calls and following up leads
• Persuasive without being pushy
• Motivated by targets and results
• Proactive and able to spot opportunities
• Confident asking for the sale and closing bookings
• Friendly, professional and naturally welcoming
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
• A strong communicator in person, over the phone and in writing
• Reliable, accountable and comfortable taking ownership of your work
Previous experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, leisure or a customer-facing commercial role would be highly desirable. Equestrian experience not essential but is an advantage. We can teach you about our services — we're more interested in finding someone with the confidence, commercial instinct and drive to sell them.
