How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Faithworks Homelessness Case Worker: 18 hours per week (Mon to Wed)

Could you help someone leave homelessness behind for good?

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Case Worker to join our Half-Time team, working directly with people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, provide practical support, and help people access accommodation, benefits, healthcare, recovery services and other pathways that can transform lives.

Key aspects of the role: Deliver assessments, Team Talks and person-centred casework support for guests. Support guests to access housing, benefits, healthcare, employment, training and recovery services. Work closely with local partners including statutory agencies, charities and churches.

What we are looking for: Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs. Excellent listening and communication skills. The ability to build trust with people facing significant challenges.

If you are passionate about seeing lives transformed and want to be part of a team that brings practical support, hope and encouragement to people experiencing homelessness, we would love to hear from you.

Faithworks Homelessness Welcome Worker: 2 posts: Mon-Wed, and Wed-Friday (both 18hours/week)

Ready to be the welcoming face of hope?

As our Welcome Worker, you will often be the first person that guests encounter when they arrive at Half-Time or engage with our homelessness services. That first conversation can make all the difference. We are looking for someone who can create a safe, compassionate and professional welcome for people experiencing homelessness and hardship, while helping them access the support they need to move forward.

Key aspects of the role: Provide a welcoming and supportive first point of contact for guests, visitors and partner agencies. Working with a team of volunteers, support guests to access practical services including showers, laundry facilities, clothing and refreshments.  Signpost and connect guests with caseworkers, partner agencies and wider community support.

What we are looking for: Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs. A calm, compassionate and resilient approach when working with people facing crisis. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Good judgement, professional boundaries and an understanding of safeguarding.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in helping people feel seen, valued and supported as they begin their journey towards greater stability and hope.

To apply for any of these posts, please send your CV and a covering letter to office@faith-works.org.uk by 12noon on Fri 25th Sep. In your covering letter, we’d love to hear what interests you about the role and how your character, skills and experience would help you succeed as part of our team.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact the Faithworks team on 01202 429037.

This role is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the postholder be a Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. As the role involves working with vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS check will be required.
