How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Digital Trader for our non-fashion categories, you will play a key role in driving online sales, optimising the customer journey and delivering commercial growth through effective trading, merchandising and promotional strategies across Fenwick's digital channels.


    We offer hybrid working between your home and our offices on Wigmore Street, Central London, offering a collaborative and innovative working space.

    About the Role


    As a Digital Trader, you will be instrumental in driving online sales and profitability by combining commercial insight with data-driven decision making. Owning the trading performance of your categories, you will use customer behaviour, web analytics and trading data to identify opportunities, optimise the online customer journey and deliver against key commercial KPIs including revenue, conversion, average order value and sell-through.


    Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Site Optimisation and Analytics teams, you will ensure the right products are showcased to the right customers at the right time. From managing the trading calendar and supporting key launches to optimising onsite merchandising, search and promotional activity, you will take a proactive approach to trading your categories, identifying opportunities to maximise performance and deliver incremental growth.


    This is a highly collaborative and fast-paced role, requiring strong analytical skills, commercial awareness and a growth mindset. You will monitor category performance, make recommendations to improve trading outcomes, build relationships with brand partners and support the delivery of marketing activity through data-led insights. As the business continues to invest in its digital growth, you will also play an important role in supporting and developing colleagues, helping to establish best practice and drive performance across the wider team.


    What we are looking for in a candidate...


    • Strong eCommerce trading and optimisation experience
    • Previous experience leading, coaching or developing team members
    • Strong numerical and analytical background
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel required
    • Experience of eCommerce merchandising software and analytics tools
    • Shopify experience ideal but not required
    • Agility PIM experience ideal but not required
    • Experience of working with both own bought products and concession brands advantageous
    • Commercially aware with strong trading focus
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills
    • The ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
    • The ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
