How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    IT Support Level 1 and Level 2 – Swindon

    Opportunity:

    Are you currently working in IT support? Does your experience include dealing directly with technical End User support, resolving hardware, software and network issues? If yes then please read on.

    Your role as an IT Level 1 and Level 2 based in Swindon will involve providing level 1 and level 2 IT support for the business.

    Duties and responsibilities include:

    * General network, telecoms and server support and problem solving.

    * Analysing system requirements and business processes to assist in the design and implementation of IT solutions.

    * Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment and software to ensure operational efficiency.

    * Replacing and rebuilding hardware components as needed.

    * Performing IT Procurement in accordance with corporate guidelines.

    * Coordinating with local IT support vendors for services such as Network cable installation, Copier Support, and eWaste collection.

    * On call 24x7 for emergencies and support for special projects.

    This is a 12 months contract which will be reviewed for a possible extension or go permanent however this is all dependent on the candidate and business performance. The PAYE rate is between £15.38 - £17.43 per hour.

    This is a site based role working Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

    Skills:

    To apply for the IT Support Level 1 and Level 2 role you will have the following skills:

    * Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

    * Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification is desirable.

    * Solid understanding of personal computing applications (Office, email, etc.).

    * Excellent working knowledge of networks and server infrastructure.

    * Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
