How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    EA-RS Group – Mechanical Fire Sprinkler Project Manager

We design, install, and maintain critical systems including fire alarms, suppression systems, and security controls across sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, and commercial properties.

    Purpose of the role

    EA-RS Group require a self-motivated individual who can manage all aspects of mechanical sprinkler or water mist suppression systems.

    The role requires a pro-active and pragmatic individual who can work alone and part of a team to collaborate with all relevant contributors for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the systems with excellent communication and quality results to our customers.

    The project manager will have direct involvement from pre-order through to final account and warranty period.

    Key tasks

    * To review allocated project(s) from technical and commercial perspectives as part of handover process.

    * To setup and structure allocated new project(s), following handover, ensuring systems are accurately maintained throughout project(s) life cycle

    * To create and issue a Project program and task schedule (WBS) that meets the allocated projects client time frame / issued program of works and clearly defines all key tasks and critical path actions

    * To setup procurement schedule / cash flow (cost & sales) forecasts following handover, and to ensure margin is maximised and a positive cash flow is maintained throughout project(s) life cycle

    * To liaise, formally task and work closely with the Design Team Group to provide detailed design drawings and calculations during pre-construction phase of the allocated project(s) and to submit those documents to the client team for approval using a formal control mechanism.

    * To act as main point of contact and work manage from office and site locations all design, planning, procurement, co-ordination, installation, commissioning, handover elements of the allocated project(s) incl. all mechanical, electrical, documentation and ancillary works that make up the project(s) scope, using the appropriate departments within the company and sub-contractor support (as/when) necessary, ensuring all work is installed to program, to the highest quality, to the relevant standards and to ensure the company is not exposed to commercial risk.

    * To ensure that our Program(s), Design Drawings, Calcs, RAMS, Quality Plans, Technical / Sample / Benchmark submittals, Plant / Tool Registers etc are produced during pre-construction phase of the allocated project(s) and to submit those documents to the client team for approval using a formal control mechanism. Then to maintain these drawings and documents throughout the project(s) life cycle.

    * Monitor progress/programme identify any issues via early warning notice to ensure these are captured/issued on regularly basis.

    * To ensure that all operatives are working within Health and Safety guidelines and are working to up to date and agreed (approved) SSOW (Method Statements and Risk Assessments) by regular review.

    * To ensure that quality documentation (check sheets) and relevant certification is produced, completed, signed off and issued as part of the build, commissioning and handover stages of the project(s).

    * LPCB supervision inspections, ensure these are booked at the correct stages of the project with the design department.

    * 50% of 1st fix install – only guide can be agreed with design department once progress on site is established.

    * LPCB observations are rectified in timely manner.

    * Sprinkler pumps demo on completion of manufactures on site commissioning.

    * To maintain and where possible improve project margin over that agreed and accepted at Sales/Operations handover at commencement of project, identify margin erosions early as possible to SMT, to ensure these are captured early.

    * To maintain cost control and ensure that all applications / invoices / variation costings and claims are current and up to date and submitted monthly in an agreed time frame, working closely with QS ensuring variations are recovered in timely manner.

    * To issue a weekly progress report to client/contracts teams in an agreed format

    * Carry out cost to completes monthly

    * To report monthly financial & installation progress, WIP etc on contract review form and to attend monthly Contract reviews with Contracts Manager or Operations Director.

    * Carry out Project invoicing forecast monthly

    * To always maintain & promote good client & EA-RS team relationships

    * To work with supplier/sub-contractor partners to achieve best pricing, high quality & efficient output and report to Projects Director

    * At project(s) close, complete all final certification, O&M manuals, close out forms, complete any required training & formally handover to service team, as reqd.

    * Close down project, returning unused materials/equipment etc to base and off hire any relevant plant and site accommodation/facilities.

    Qualifications

    GCSE in Maths and English

    Mechanical engineering qualification

    NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management

    CSCS Construction Skills Card

    Health and Safety Qualification, IOSH, SMSTS, etc.

    Experience

    Experience of construction project engineering or management

    Experience within sprinkler or water mist suppression project engineering or management

    Knowledge of current relevant suppression British Standards and Regulations, including LPC 12845, BS 8489, BS 9251, NFPA, FM Global

    Knowledge of sprinkler or water mist equipment and installation

    Ability to work well on your own or as part of a team.

    Full UK Driving Licence
