Owen Reed is looking for an experienced Legal PA to join the Residential and Secured Lending team of a leading law firm in London.
The Legal PA will provide proactive secretarial and administrative support to Fee Earners, ensuring the efficient management of diaries, documents, client matters and financial processes. Previous secretarial experience within a law firm is essential, while experience in Residential Property or Secured Lending would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage diaries and anticipate Fee Earners’ workloads and priorities.
- Process relevant applications, forms and property searches.
- Act as a first point of contact for clients and Fee Earners.
- Deliver a professional and responsive service to internal and external clients.
- Assist with marketing communications and record business development activity within the CRM system.
- Create, format and amend accurate, high-quality legal documents in line with the firm’s house style.
- Proofread documents for spelling, grammar, accuracy and clarity.
- Use the Document Management System effectively and create documents using firm templates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, including closing and archiving matters.
- Keep records of files transferred to off-site storage.
- Prepare bills and support Fee Earners with financial administration.
- Prepare AML documentation and obtain the required information from clients.
- Conduct conflict searches and correctly identify relevant work types.
- Maintain strict client confidentiality at all times.
Skills and Experience
- Previous secretarial or Legal PA experience within a law firm is essential.
- Residential Property or Secured Lending experience would be beneficial.
- Strong diary, document and file-management skills.
- Excellent typing, proofreading and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience using document management and CRM systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible and collaborative attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.
- GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/level 4 or equivalent are essential.
