How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Overview

Are you a Design Engineer with strong 3D CAD skills and a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy turning concepts into precise engineering drawings, and take pride in getting it right first time?

We are working with a leading UK motorsport engineering business, designing and developing bespoke solutions for professional motorsport teams to meet MSA and FIA conformity requirements. It is a great opportunity for a CAD-focused engineer to see their work go straight from the drawing board to the racetrack.

You will be working alongside the engineering, production and skilled fabrication teams, creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings that support builds and production for everything from Automotive OEM projects to top-tier motorsport programmes. It is a fast-paced environment where every day brings new projects and challenges, with plenty of scope to get involved in continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Your responsibilities as a Design Engineer:

Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for bespoke motorsport safety and structural solutions.
Support builds and production for projects spanning Automotive OEM work to top-tier motorsport programmes.
Work closely with the engineering, production and fabrication teams throughout the design process.
Maintain clear, effective communication with customers, colleagues and other departments.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Adapt to a fast-paced environment where projects and priorities can change from day to day.
Your current experience which will help you a Design Engineer:

Proven CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar), with the ability to read and produce engineering drawings.
Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject; HND or degree preferred.
Knowledge or understanding of CMM systems.
A logical thought process with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, numeracy and IT skills, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
A collaborative team player with real attention to detail; an interest in cars or motorsport is an advantage.
What you can expect as a Design Engineer:

    Competitive salary DOE
Flexible working, with an excellent team culture
31 days holiday including Bank Holidays
    Company pension scheme
