How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Design Engineer

    International Travel - 9 day fortnight (every other Friday off)

    £45-55k + Co. Pension, Private Medical, Training & Development, Life Assurance

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a global engineering business specialising in bespoke automated assembly and manufacturing equipment. You’ll be responsible for the electrical design of standard and special-purpose machinery, while taking technical ownership of assigned projects.

    Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:

    Design electrical systems for automated machinery including assembly, casting, testing and robotic cells.
    Produce electrical schematics, cabinet layouts, BOMs, termination lists and machine documentation.
    Take technical responsibility for assigned projects and present designs at design reviews.
    Select electrical components with consideration for cost, availability, standardisation and obsolescence.
    Work closely with mechanical, pneumatic and software engineers to deliver complete machine solutions.
    Support risk assessments, safety requirements and CE compliance.
    Manage design changes, maintain technical documentation and deliver projects to agreed deadlines.
    Provide occasional customer support, including presentations, fault-finding and international site visits.
    Electrical Design Engineer - What We’re Looking For:

    Proven experience in electrical design for industrial machinery or automation.
    Strong ability to understand and produce technical drawings.
    Solid electrical CAD package - AutoCAD Electrical helpful
    Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering projects.
    Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
    Proactive and confident approach with the ability to take technical ownership.
    Willingness to undertake international travel.
