How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Foiling and Die Cutting Platen Operator

    Location: Thame

    Hours:

    6am-2pm Monday to Friday

    2pm- midnight Monday to Thursday

    Salary: £13.00 to 19.00 Per Hour (Depending On Experience)

    About the business:

    Would you like to work as a Foiling and Die Cutting Platen for a highly versatile and creative team of people, this is your chance. My client is continually looking to inspire their client and develop their printing and finishes. My client are specialist UV printers of greeting cards, POS, Packaging, deluxe magazine/book covers and exquisite stationary items.

    The day to duties will require operating hot foiling machinery, embossing and die-cutting.

    Specific Duties for a Foiling and Die Cutting Platen:

    Make ready on composite layouts using dies supplied.
    Set to approved standards, checking against film supplied/copy.
    Refer to Job instructions at all times.
    Pull pass sheet and on approval, label and retain for future reference.
    Run job to standard of pass sheet.
    Check throughout run for quality.
    On completion of job check final sheet is same as pass sheet ready for next process.
    Complete paperwork/computer entries confirming details to close job on system.
    Undo make ready, ensuring dies and counterforces are damage free, ready for storage and re-use.
    Damaged tooling to be identified.
    Monitor stock of consumable/make ready materials.
    Machinery to be kept clean and maintained at all times to standards as if new.
    Work area to be kept clean and maintained at all times to standards.
    Conduct guard checks and oil checks as required.
    Identify machine faults and alert manager if unable to resolve.
    Follow schedule of work as directed by Production Manager.
    Make ready and run timings are to be within the timings normally expected of a fully trained competent operator.Skills and Interests required for a Foiling and Die Cutting Platen Operagtor:

    Be able to follow strict production timelines.
    Effectively communicate.
    Exercise a high degree of judgement and utilise various strategies regarding work in progress to ensure efficient production.
    Strong problem solving and analysis.
    Ability to keep calm under pressure.
    Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.Education and Experience for a Foiling and Die Cutting Platen Operator:

    Experience in the offset print industry.
    Proficient in the operation of platen press machinery.
