How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Geo-environmental Engineer

    Location: London
    Salary: £34,000-£40,000

    About the Role

    An established environmental and engineering consultancy is seeking a Geo-environmental Engineer to join their expanding London team. The role offers the opportunity to work across a range of ground investigation and environmental projects.

    The successful Geo-environmental Engineer will work across both site and office environments, supporting investigations, technical reporting and project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Engineering Geologist looking to develop their career within a collaborative consultancy.

    Undertake and supervise ground investigations across London and wider areas.
    Coordinate fieldwork and manage subcontractors.
    Prepare factual and interpretative technical reports.
    Complete contaminated land and geotechnical risk assessments.
    Assist with Phase I and Phase II investigations.
    Monitor project progress, budgets and deadlines.
    Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
    Provide practical geological and environmental recommendations.
    Maintain health, safety and environmental standards.
    Support junior team members where required.Requirements

    Previous experience as a Geo-environmental Engineer or within geoenvironmental consultancy.
    Knowledge of Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments and ground investigation.
    Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or a related subject.
    Strong technical, communication and report-writing skills.
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Geo-environmental Engineer to join a progressive consultancy with a strong pipeline of work across London.
